Infinix has introduced the Hot 70 Pro in India, positioning the device as a mid-range option that includes a rear display and a 144Hz screen. The phone costs Rs 22,999, or roughly $245, and is available now through Flipkart and retail outlets. At this price point, the inclusion of a 6,000mAh battery and five years of security updates stands out among competitors.

What Is the Rear Display?

The distinctive feature on the back is the Active Matrix Cube. This small screen sits on the rear panel and can show alerts for calls, messages, charging status, and low battery levels. It also displays the weather, countdowns, and notifications from the camera app.

During music playback or gaming, the Cube changes its lighting effects. Infinix includes Matrix Studio software that allows users to create custom patterns and emojis. The company notes that this feature is more for fun than utility, as the display is small and doesn’t support touch input.

Performance and Display Specs

The front of the device features a 6.76-inch FHD+ screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling. Peak brightness reaches 910 nits in High Brightness Mode. Under the hood, the phone uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset paired with UFS 2.2 storage.

Infinix claims that popular games can run at up to 90 frames per second. This allows for smoother gameplay compared to the standard 60Hz standard found on many phones in this segment. The battery capacity is 6,000mAh, supported by 45W fast charging that can reach 50 percent in about 25 minutes. Reverse charging at 10W is also available for powering other devices.

Camera and Design

The camera system includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with 2x lossless zoom capabilities. The front-facing camera is 8MP. Software tools like AI Eraser and AI Extender help users edit photos quickly.

Design options include Thermo Orange, which changes color based on temperature, Mirage Green, which glows under UV light, Silk Glow Purple, and Dive Blue. The phone is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance and includes NFC. A new One-Tap AI Button can launch more than 50 apps or open Google’s Gemini assistant.

While the Active Matrix Cube will likely draw the most attention, the combination of a high-refresh-rate screen, large battery, IP68 rating, and long-term security support offers a practical value proposition for the price. The software is based on Android 16 and includes three major Android updates plus five years of security patches.

The Hot 70 Pro’s 144Hz display offers a smooth viewing experience. This refresh rate is a key selling point for mobile gamers who want fluid motion during fast-paced action.

Infinix is betting on the rear display to attract early adopters. This unique addition sets the device apart from other smartphones in the crowded Indian market.
