Xiaomi is preparing to launch its next flagship tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro, with a 12.5-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, and a larger battery. The new leak suggests that the battery will grow by around 20 percent, from 9,200mAh to 11,000mAh.
The charging speed will remain the same at 67W. This decision may not be a problem for tablet users, as they don’t need to charge their devices as quickly as phone users.
According to the leak, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro will feature a 12.5-inch LCD display with 3.2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. This is a significant upgrade from the 11.2-inch screen on the current Pad 8 Pro.

Xiaomi has decided to stick with LCD instead of moving to OLED, and the 144Hz refresh rate will remain the same as the previous model. The larger screen will make the Pad 9 Pro more suitable for split-screen apps, video, and work with a keyboard.
The larger display requires more power, and Xiaomi has addressed this by increasing the battery capacity. The battery is a significant upgrade from the one on the Pad 8 Pro.
This increase in battery capacity should provide the Pad 9 Pro with enough power to handle a full day of work or media, as long as Xiaomi can keep power consumption under control. They will also upgrade the performance with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
The Pad 9 Pro won’t be Xiaomi’s best tablet this year, as the company has already confirmed a Pad 9 Pro Max with an even larger 13.3-inch display and Xiaomi’s new Xring O3 chip.

Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed the Pad 9 Pro specs yet, so things could still change before launch. However, a bigger screen and almost 2,000mAh of extra battery sound like the right upgrades for a tablet.
For now, it seems that Xiaomi is focusing on improving the aspects of the tablet that matter most to users, rather than trying to set new records for charging speed.
