Sony has launched Live TV on PS5, a free streaming service featuring more than 100 channels available directly through the console. The service uses the FAST model, which stands for Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television, meaning viewers watch content at no cost in exchange for ads. This model allows Sony to offer a vast array of entertainment options without requiring users to pay for yet another monthly subscription.
Users can access Live TV on PS5 through the Media tab on their console. After signing in with a PlayStation account, they can start watching immediately. There’s no need to download a separate app or subscribe to PlayStation Plus. The service is fully integrated into the PS5’s user interface, providing a seamless transition from gaming to watching television.
Movies, Anime and Sports All Included
The launch roster of Live TV on PS5 spans a wide range of genres, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Movie options include MovieSphere by Lionsgate, FilmRise Free Movies, and Sony One Horror Hits. Live TV on PS5 is currently available in the United States, with Canada listed as the next market. Sony has not announced a launch date for Europe or other regions.
